The disease of alcoholism (addiction) is a mystery to many
- including those who suffer from it. It is a complex illness and it affects complex people. But the addict and the alcoholic
are not the only ones who suffer. Studies show that for every addict there are another twenty people who are deeply
affected by the addict's behavior and disease.
So not everyone
who suffers from alcoholism is a drinker. And not every drinker is an alcoholic.
I understand
the disease as few people do. I am a student of life and people. I have answers that few people do about this cunning, baffling
and powerful illness. But in my experience EVERYONE has a problem like addiction, that they can't deal with on their
own. The list could go on ad-infinitum - shopping, spending, sex, money, work, relationships etc..
God saved me from
myself and He did that for a reason. He had plans for me. I believe those plans include opening a window of understanding
for any and all who are baffled by their problems.
